Comparing the 2018 Acura ILX in Houston to the Lexus IS

March 29th, 2018 by

If you are looking for a new vehicle that is sleek with a touch of sportiness, take a look at the 2018 Acura ILX in Houston.  Available at John Eagle Acura, the ILX gives you a stunning ride paired with power for a truly amazing driving experience.  Even compared to the competition such as the 2018 Lexus IS, the Acura ILX has more desirable features such as…

Enhanced Safety

Safety features should never take a backseat in priority on any vehicle.  While both the 2018 Acura ILX and the Lexus IS have similar features including electronic stability systems, available crash mitigating brakes and blind spot warning systems, the Lexus IS does not have smart airbags.  The smart airbags on the Acura ILX can deploy with different levels of force to better protect passengers who lean against side airbags.  The Acura ILX also has an Active Head Restraint feature which can protect the front passengers from whiplash.  During a collision, the head can move forward and snap back towards the headrest.  With Active Head Restraints, the headrests move forward and protect the head.

Reliability

The 2018 Acura ILX has a hardened steel chain that drives the camshafts.  On the Lexus IS, the camshafts are driven by a rubber belt.  If the rubber belt is not maintained, the belt could snap and severely damage the engine.  You’ll have less maintenance and more reliability with a hardened steel chain.

More Passenger and Cargo Room

For more passenger comfort, the Acura ILX has more room compared to the Lexus IS.  With the ILX, you’ll have 1.8 inches more rear legroom and .1 inches more rear shoulder room.  This doesn’t compromise cargo space as the ILX has more compared to the IS.  The ILX has 12.3 cubic feet of storage room compared to only 10.8 cubic feet of storage.

To get a feel for the 2018 Acura ILX in Houston come into John Eagle Acura and see one for yourself.  Or, schedule a test drive and experience all of these amazing features.
